CANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coach Andy Reid said Kansas City Chiefs are increasing Patrick Mahomes' workload this week before deciding on a quarterback for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.
"We" will not put him there unless it is safe to do so, "Reed said before Mahomes was named a full participant in Wednesday's practice. "But he has to go through that level of work and scale it up and see how he does it.
" We'll see how he does. I think it will be every day and we will see how it works. He did not take any number of reps last week, so we will try to increase them here a little and see how he develops. "
Matt Moore replaces Mahomes during Week 7's victory over the Denver Broncos after Mahomes pulled out his right knee. Moore took most of the starter shots virtually every two weeks while Mahomes practiced for a limited time.
Mahomes is second on the defensive line behind Moore during individual practice Wednesday
. Ed Werder's ESPN that the three-week mark is important to recover Here's Mahomes, because his chance of recovering is reduced to between 10 and 20. Percentage of Mahomes has to improve every day, reducing the risk of him getting his knee back.
Titans coach Mike Vrabel said expecting Mahomes to play on Sunday.
"That was a pretty good jump there at the end of the game," Vrabel said of Mahomes 'celebration after the Chiefs' winning field goal last week against the Vikings. "He has pretty good air."
