Rebel Wilson gets “some bad news” and feels that people are struggling with fertility

The Pitch Perfect star posted on his official Instagram account, writing “I got bad news today and had no one to share it with … but I guess I have to tell someone.”

“I feel for all the women out there who are struggling with fertility,” reads the caption, which shows her standing on rocks near water with the sun coming through the clouds. “The universe works in mysterious ways, and sometimes it doesn’t make sense … but I hope that light will penetrate all the dark clouds.”

In November 2020, Wilson revealed that she had been diagnosed in the past with polycystic ovary syndrome, a hormonal disorder that can cause weight gain and make it difficult for women to reproduce.

“I started gaining weight when I was about 20,” she told E! In an interview. “I had something called PCOS – polycystic ovary syndrome – and I gained weight quickly. It’s just a hormonal imbalance and you usually gain a lot of weight and that’s how it was for me.”

“Sometimes I feel sad, but at the same time I worked with my body to my advantage,” she added. “I like to be of any size. I’m just 40, I’m better in health and I’m thinking of starting a family.”

Wilson declared 2020 the “Year of Health” for her and documented training and weight loss on social media.
At the end of the same year, she talked about her trip, including how it took fertility into account, while live on Instagram.

“I was thinking about fertility and having quality eggs in the bank, so I said, ‘Okay, I’ll do this, I’ll be fine,'” she said.
