Reports of quarterback Deschaun Watson’s dissatisfaction with the Texas hit the radar this week, leading to speculation as to whether Watson would insist on trading away from Houston.
This speculation is unlikely to end after a report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen on Sunday. Mortensen echoed other reports that Watson was upset that the team had not interviewed chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemi about their vacancy.
Watson’s dissatisfaction with the organization did not lead to a request for trading at this time, but Mortensen said he could “play hard” for one if he wished. Watson has a trade-off clause in his contract, and Mortensen says he would consider a deal to send him to the Dolphins.
This trade will likely involve Tua Tagovailoa going to Houston along with other benefits. This compensation may include the choice for the first or second round that the Texans sent to Miami for the left-wing fight with Laremi Tuncil, although it remains nothing more than insinuations until Watson says what he wants and how the Texans react.
