The Canadian Cooperative for Dairy Products Agropour on Saturday issued a precautionary, voluntary cancellation of two types of ice cream sandwiches. Specifically: Iceberg brand 190 ml ice cream sandwiches sold in boxes of 8 and Originale Augustin brand 190 ml ice cream sandwiches sold in boxes of 30 because of the risk of fine metal particles in the product.
Retailers have to remove products from shelves, said Agropour in a statement. oversight by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
"There have been no reports of discomfort or injury," the company said. "We take this voluntary action only for the sake of caution."
Agropur is one of the largest processors of dairy products in the world. More than 3,000 dairy farmers are part of the cooperative.
