Sierra (Returns) Online
If you had asked me to predict the games in 2021, I would not have guessed that a thousand guesses had dropped chips on this one. Roberta and Ken Williams, founders of adventure game developer Sierra Entertainment, have announced plans to develop and launch a brand new game in 2021, which will be the duo’s first release in more than two decades.

Sierra was eventually acquired by CUC Software in 1996, with Ken and Roberta Williams retiring from both Sierra and the gaming industry in 1998. After the duo left, CUC Software would be acquired by Vivendi in 2006. , but closed after merging with Activision in 2008. In its current form, Sierra exists only as a publishing brand, distributing its classic versions to modern audiences on platforms such as GOG.com.

According to Sierra’s Super Quest Historian fan, Ken and Roberta were drawn to give up because Roberta had an idea for a new game, while Ken was working on the Unity 3D engine. The couple teamed up with 3D artist Marcus Maximus Mera to bring The secret to take place, with the game expected to launch on a computer later in 2021.
