Beaver County Attorney’s Office said Friday night that the man was in custody after a mental health call caused him to shoot with one shot and flee into the woods with a gun. It happened near Whistler Drive in Rochester.
Rochester’s football game against Shenango was delayed and fans were evacuated from the stadium. Officials say lights from the stadium interfere with police night-vision equipment.
Officials say the man fled his home with a gun, fired and threatened at around 6:30 p.m.
“There’s an old cemetery on top of the hill and he lives here, he hunts here, he knows the woods very well, so he went there for safety,” said Beaver County Attorney David Lozier.
