Saints QB Drew Brees is likely to retire after a run after the season

Drew Bryce is preparing for what could be his last appearance at the New Orleans Saints.

After the Saints began their off-season Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bears, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports to NFL GameDay Morning that Brees is likely to retire after the season.

“I haven’t talked to anyone who believes Drew Bryce will play in 2021,” Rapoport said. “He has not made his decision clear, he has not announced definitively that he is retiring after the playoffs, but it certainly seems to be the way it is going.

“As you mentioned, he̵

And that’s another reason, by the way, the team wanted to take a closer look at Taysom Hill when Drew Bryce was out with about 35 rib fractures, just to see what they would have next year in the quarterback position. “It’s still going on and of course we’ll see how Brees completes it.”

The 42-year-old finished his 20th regular season in the NFL and is the first in the Hall of Fame five years after leaving. Among a number of records, Bryce holds the mark for most career advancement yards and the most completed careers in NFL history.

Bryce is reportedly almost retired after last season, but has decided to try again to pursue a second Lombardi trophy.

The chase for the second appearance of the Super Bowl begins today.
