According to a recent tweet from @evleaks graphene batteries are on the horizon. Samsung is said to be working on a lithium-ion alternative, Samsung which reportedly hopes to have at least a phone in 2020 or 2021
Like @evleaks tweets, "Samsung hopes to have at least one handset either in the next year or in 2021, I was told which would include a graphene battery instead. Capable of fully recharging in half an hour, they still need to increase capacity while reducing costs. ”
Graphene has several advantages over your typical lithium-ion battery. One of the benefits of @evleaks is that it has a faster charging time, in which case it can be a full charge in less than half an hour. Other benefits include more capacity, less weight and, of course, flexibility.
We could still be a long way from Samsung's flagship with a graphene battery, but just knowing that the work of replacing lithium ions is exciting.
