Samsung has announced that the new Galaxy Fit 2 fitness tracker and the new Trio wireless charger are now available for purchase. The company previously announced the two products during its Life Unstoppable virtual event in September.
Galaxy Fit 2 is the successor to the Galaxy Fit group, released last year. The updated version includes a larger display and improved battery life. Samsung says the new model can last up to three weeks on a single charge, depending on your settings. Galaxy Fit 2 is $ 59 and comes in black and red.
The Trio Wireless Charger is a $ 89 charging pad that allows you to power three electronic devices at once – a smartwatch, headset and phone, or a smartwatch and two phones. It is the successor to the Wireless Charger Duo, which previously could only charge two devices at a time. The design of the Wireless Charger Trio is a pad instead of a stand and pad like its predecessor.
The Trio wireless charging pad can also charge an iPhone (iPhone X or later), but its right pad only supports charging for Samsung Galaxy smartwatches. It’s not clear if Trio supports charging for AirPods with a wireless charging box, but it’s likely that its predecessor can charge both AirPods and iPhones.
Samsung also announced that it is adding two additional color options (“mystical red” and “aura blue”) to its wireless bead-shaped headphones, Galaxy Buds Live. Compared to other models, including the cheaper Galaxy Buds Plus, my colleagues Chris Welch and Becca Farsace said that the Galaxy Buds Live stands out due to its unusual design, long battery life and powerful sound.
The color red is now available on the Samsung and Amazon websites. Samsung says that the blue model will be sold exclusively at Best Buy, starting tomorrow, October 17, but it seems that a similar option for blue is already available on Amazon.
