San Diego gym opposes coronavirus outbreak order

It is not clear how many cases are related to Fitness in California, but county health officials say three or more cases from different households from a particular location are considered contagious.

Fitness did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.

The gym on the Pacific Beach remained open, despite an order to close closed operations to prevent the spread of the virus. The business was sent a letter on July 23 and was told to close immediately, but it closed only days later on July 27, county health officials said.

According to San Diego health official Wilma Wooten, any business or entity that violates the order faces a breach and a $ 1,000 fine.

County officials say they need to step up efforts to track contacts and take action against malicious offenders. They have issued numerous letters to local businesses, including gyms and restaurants.

Fitness centers have struggled to keep their clients safe while working outdoors.

After the pandemic closed gyms across the country, a 24-hour gym filed for bankruptcy and closed 1
00 gyms. Last month, more than 200 planet fitness participants in West Virginia were invited to quarantine after a customer tested positive.

“We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our community. We have taken a number of steps in all our locations, which include enhanced cleanliness and sanitation policies, extensive staff training, physical distancing measures, reducing physical points of contact in the club with contactless registration, and more, “said McCall Gosselin, senior vice president of communications for Planet Fitness.
