If Lesnar is interested in a battle at Bellator, Cocker is confident he can do it. While Lesnar will not be a cheap commodity, Coker predicts that those who are high in Viacom, Showtime and beyond, will see a return on investment
“If it was available, I’m sure we could make a deal,” Cocker said. “I would go straight to our CEO, Bob Bekish, and talk to him about it. Lesnar did not compete in the UFC 200 in July 2016, when he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision. The victory was later overturned after Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene. Shortly afterwards, the UFC announced that the former heavyweight champion had retired for the second time in six years.
Bellator returns this week with FightSphere events. Bellator 246 takes place Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, with a main map aired on Paramount and streamed at DAZN after previews by MMA Junkie. Friday, the Bellator 245 lands in the same spot.
