We stay less than two weeks from This is us Season 5 premieres and NBC has just released a new promotional trailer to highlight what’s next for the Pearson family. The preview irritated the storylines that left fans hanging in the fourth season finale, including whether Madison (Caitlin Thompson) was Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) fiancée. But a recent trailer hinted at Kevin and Madison’s relationship This is us the premiere may not be what fans expected before.

IN This is us Season 4 finale of the fall, Kevin revealed that he had a pregnant fiancée until his 40th birthday. Then, at the end of the season, Madison told Kevin that she was pregnant with twins. Meanwhile, a lightning forward to the distant future confirmed that Kevin has two children – a boy and a girl.
However, creator Dan Vogelman hinted that Madison may not be the pregnant bride from the fall finale. However, he noted that the answer will be revealed in This is us Season 5 premieres. There’s an immediate answer to all of this, “Vogelman told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2020.” But I think there are actually a lot more chapters in Kevin’s romantic story. “

When talking to People in September 2020, Brown revealed This is us Season 5 will still focus on Pearsons. However, the new season will “briefly” cover current events and they “will not be completely washed away.”
Then, in an interview with Dr. Oz on October 1, Brown teased how Randall’s perspective would be “illuminated” as This is us addresses the Black Lives Matter movement.
“In particular, Randall, who is a black man raised in a white family, may have a very special perspective. It will be lit, Brown said. “I hope people will appreciate the attention that has tried to reflect the world we live in today in our show.”
Then, when Dr. Oz said Randall had the ability to “speak in both cultures,” Brown hinted at how the theme might appear on the show.
“Sterling, like Randall, has the ability to translate. But sometimes it can be quite tiring to have to explain systemic racism when you’re not the person responsible for it, “Brown said. “So that’s a little teaser, too.”

Of course, there are more storylines to delve into This is us Season 5 airs on NBC on October 27. The trailer reminded fans of the battle of Randall and Kevin in the finale of season 4. Then, at the end of the teaser, the two brothers gather in the cabin on the 40th birthday of the Big Three – and it looks tense.
Rebecca (Mandy Moore) is also worried. In the promotion, Pearson’s matriarch said he felt “like magic.” However, Kate shows concern on her face. Last season, Rebecca was diagnosed with a mild cognitive impairment and she decided to have a clinical trial in St. Louis after a serious push from Randall. Then, in an interview with The Wrap, Vogelman revealed that next season will be “challenging” for Rebecca.
“Obviously it will be a challenging chapter for Rebecca’s progress,” Vogelman said in March. “We have a big storyline planned for Mandy next season nowadays as an adult woman, and also all her past time.”
In the meantime, we’ll find out more about Randall’s past in This is us Season 5. In season 4, the hero struggles with his mental health. The plot will continue in the new season. Speaking to TV Insider, Vogelman confirmed that Beth would support Randall while continuing Pamela Adlon’s therapy with Dr. Lee. The preview also shows Randall wondering if she shares a birthday with Kevin and Kate. “I’ll never really know what happened that day,” Randall said as the promotion highlighted a video of young William (Jermel Nakia).
