Seven companies are buying in court an arms manufacturer based in Rockingham County



Rockingham County-based arms maker Remington Arms has been put up for auction in bankruptcy, according to a Bloomberg report. The company fired more than 100 people on Tuesday as the Madison plant closed. Remington filed for bankruptcy in July. A lawsuit in Alabama says seven participants bought part of the company’s business. Remington is working to pay off nearly a billion dollars in debt. Families from the Sandy Hook massacre are suing the gunmaker for launching a rifle used to kill 20 children and six adults in 2012. That’s according to a Bloomberg report. The company fired more than 100 people on Tuesday as its Madison plant closed.
