MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Multiple employees of a restaurant in Milwaukee Popeys lost their jobs after a wild feud was captured on Wednesday by WITI Reports.
Cell phone video from fast food restaurants shows that the fight is breaking out while customers are still inside. The violent meeting happened in Popeyes near the 76th and Good Good Hope around 9:30 pm
Richard Fure told WITI he wanted to avoid the driving line tonight, so he went inside.
"I said, I said to myself, 'Aunt, a lot of people work here,' says Fure.
Fure said he could feel the tension and grab hold of his cellphone to start recording.
"I heard one of them scream, 'This is a battle,' Fure said." They ran out the back of the bars, OK. Now, there was a battle. I didn't get it on tape. "
Moments later, a fierce fight broke out near him, with several employees throwing punches.
When police arrived at the scene, they found that there were no weapons and no arrests had been made. It is unclear what sparked the dispute.
Statement by the franchise owner of Popeye
"It was an unfortunate, isolated incident that we take very seriously. The dining room was closed immediately after the dispute at 9:30 pm. As a result, 7 employees were terminated by the company, including the duty manager, "says John Brodersen.
