Now, in a New York Times profile, O’Connor accuses Prince of terrorizing her. After “Nothing Compares 2 U” became a runaway hit, O’Connor says Prince invited her to the Hollywood mansion where he lived at the time and continued to snatch her for swearing in interviews and forcing her his butler to serve her soup even though he didn’t want to. But the most alarming accusation according to Times, is when Prince “sweetly offered a pillow fight, only to slap it with something solid he had tucked in his case. When she fled on foot in the middle of the night, she wrote, he chased her with his car, jumped out and chased her down the highway. “
More about AIDS:
“You have to be crazy to be a musician,” O’Connor said. “But there’s a difference between being crazy and being a bully.” She added that she thought “Nothing Compares 2 U” was her song.
Additional stories that will come out of the song include her response to SNL reaction when she snatched a photo of the pope during the show, something we discussed with her in an interview last year.
O’Connor’s memoirs, Memories, comes out on June 1.
