SINGAPORE – Singapore and Hong Kong have again shifted the start date of a long-awaited air balloon agreement, the two cities announced on Monday.
The travel balloon, which would allow passengers to skip quarantine, was scheduled to begin on May 26. The scheme is facing numerous delays since its initial launch date in November 2020.
The Singapore Ministry of Transport said in a statement that “in light of the recent increase in unrelated cases in the community, Singapore is unable to meet the launch criteria”
The Hong Kong government, meanwhile, said in a statement that further updates would be announced on or before June 13.
