South Carolina reportedly has its own security coordinator.
Yahoo’s Pete Tamel says Shane Beamer will hire Clayton White, who currently serves as Western Kentucky.
Tamel also says White has been a “sought-after DC candidate” in the last two training cycles.
White is a two-time Broils Award nominee who goes to the best assistant coach in the country. He won the nominations in 2017 and 2019.
White, according to his biography in Western Kentucky, runs a 4-2-5 system and created the top 25 defenses in 2019.
White also spent time at NC State, Bowling Green and UConn and played at NC State and with the Giants and Buccaneers before training.
He is a former quarterback and coach of the minor in Western Kentucky.

Beamer staff comes along with the spring semester, which begins on Monday. He appointed Marcus Sutherfield as offensive coordinator on Thursday, Luke Day as strength and fitness coach on Friday night and locked in White today.
There are currently two openings for his assistant of 10 people. Gamecocks have four offensive assistants on the boat with Sutherfield, running coach Des Kitchings, receiver coaches Justin Stepp and Erik Kimrey in close quarters. Beamer is in the process of hiring an offensive line coach.
In defense, Tracy Rocker trains a defensive line and Mike Peterson trains outside the defenders.
Pete Lembo also serves as an associate head coach and special team coordinator.
