Stadia's founders invite codes not to arrive as promised

Gamers across the globe are eagerly awaiting the launch of Google Stadia in the last eight months. Today, many of those who pre-order the Stadia Founders Edition do not receive their invitation code to start playing, but Google is actively working to resolve the issue.

Update: Google has widely confirmed who has and has not sent their invitation code and how the codes will be forwarded.

In the build up to today's launch of Google Stadia, Google repeatedly promised those who pre-ordered the founder edition that their devices would ship in the order that pre-orders were received. In addition, it was promised that the invitation codes would be sent as soon as your order was shipped, but no earlier than 9am today.

Now that the launch day has arrived, however, many are finding that this "first come, first served" basis for Google Stadia's arrival is unrelated to reality. For example, of the four people here on 9to5Google who pre-ordered Stadia on the same day as the first Stadia Connect on June 6, only one of us received an invitation code.

Likewise, the Stadia subreddit and the official Stadia Discord community are filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of reports from people who pre-ordered on June 6th, who also did not receive an invitation code. Meanwhile, these same communities show plenty of examples of people who ordered much later who have already gained access to the Stadia.

While waiting a few hours to get an invite code to access the Google games platform may not seem like a big deal, the problem is that you can register your Stadia name. The first information about a potentially hard-to-reach name was more than an excuse for pre-ordering the Stadia Founders Edition

Nearly four hours after Stadia's initial release, Google has already publicly admitted. the problem with founders is not getting invite codes on both Discord and Reddit.

Hi @everyone we know that some of you who ordered the founder's edition may not have received your invitation codes within the expected time. The Stadia team is actively investigating this issue and will we will return with an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. -ChrisFromGoogle

In addition, Google Stadia Product Manager Andrei Doronichev briefly shared, then deleted, a statement that their engineering team was actively looking into the issue. [19659004] Stadia invitation codes deleted Tweet

Update 11/19 3:45 AM : According to a new statement, Google has resolved the issue and resumed sending the Stadia invitation codes in the correct order, as originally promised. [19659015] Sorry for the delayed response. We found a problem where a small portion of Stadia's access codes were sent out of order. This was addressed. We continued to release codes in the order in which we received your pre-order. We look forward to seeing you at Stadia.

Update 11/20 7:45 AM : In a second message, Google confirmed that every player who was was charged for the Stadia Founders Edition, the order placed between June 6 and 30 , received their invitation code. All pre-orders made from 1 July are reported to be processed sequentially.

We can confirm that if you ordered the Founder & # 39; s edition in June and your form of payment has already been charged, your Stadia access code has been emailed to you. We now move consistently through orders placed on or after July 1st.

Needless to say, with all the other issues that Google Stadia is facing right now, such as mixed early reviews, lack of clear brand messages and video quality concerns, things don't look right for Google Stadia on the first day.
