Steve Forbes, chairman and CEO of Forbes Media, condemned the blacklists of Trump administration officials in defense of a controversial publication in his magazine threatening companies that hire Trump “plotters.”
“Unlike Twitter, media giants and big technology companies, we believe in diversity of opinion,” Forbes told Fox & Friends on Wednesday.

Forbes magazine content director Randall Lane has warned companies that may consider hiring Kayleigh McEnany, Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and others who have worked for the Trump administration.

The chief executive said his opinion differed from that of his chief content officer.
“It’s reminiscent of what we had in the 1950s during the McCarthy era,” Forbes said. “People were refused work because of their political beliefs …”
“We won’t have blacklists and the like,” Forbes said. “People can express opinions. Unlike other organizations, we have different opinions in Forbes and we value those different opinions, and I think that shows strength, not weakness.”

Forbes defended this option as an “example” of various views that are less common in universities or Big Tech.
The former Republican presidential candidate said he and Lane opposed the culture of abolition, which Forbes called “cancer,” and called on the nation to “come together and move forward.”
