Now, Talisman may finally be ready to reach screens, but as befits the time, as a series.
And because it sometimes takes a village to build a project, Spielberg has assembled several powerful collaborators to help make the adaptation a reality.
The Duffer brothers, whose own Strange things owes more than a few debts to King’s work, will produce a series adapting the book, which will be produced by Netflix in conjunction with Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Paramount Television Studios.
Curtis Gwynn, who worked as a screenwriter-executive producer for Duffers Strange things, will act as a screenwriter and project leader, which is under development. As the deals are still being negotiated, Netflix and the participating producer countries have not commented.

The book was an instant bestseller when it hit the stories in 1984, and King and Straub came together for a sequel in 2001. On the adaptation front, the latest developments occurred in 2019, when Mike Barker directed several episodes. The maid’s tale, participated in what was then intended as a function.
For the new takeover Talisman, Matt and Ross Duffer will perform through Monkey Massacre Productions, while Spielberg will perform through Amblin TV with partners Daryl Frank and Justin Falvey. King will also perform the production, as will Paramount Television.
Todd Cohen will lead the day-to-day development of the Amblin project, along with Spielberg, Frank and Falvey.
After nearly 50 years, King’s work remains incredibly popular in Hollywood thanks to his deep bench of bestsellers and recent success as a recent That adaptations. The Running man and a Pet cemetery prehistory are among his works. King is represented by Paradigm and Gang Tire.
A self-described geek, Gwinn first began comedy before becoming a screenwriter-producer in the fourth season of AMC Living Dead. This darker genre path led him to work with Damon Lindelof on HBO The remains, The Magnificent Medieval Drama of Kurt Sutter The bastard’s executioner and Netflix Drugs. He is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and lawyer Lev Ginsburg of Ginsburg Daniels.
The Duffers are currently preparing their fourth season of Strange things which is expected to be worshiped later this year. The series remains one of Netflix’s most popular shows. They are represented by the CAA and attorney Alex Conner of Maurice Jorn.
