The discounter said it plans to hire more than 130,000 seasonal workers across its stores and supply chain. Announced up from its announced goal of 120,000 seasonal workers in 2018.

The retailer said its seasonal workers, similar to all hourly associates, will receive benefits such as a 10% discount at Target stores and online and an additional 20% wellness discount off fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, Good & Gather Organic (the chain's new private label grocery brand), the C9 and Up & Up private lines and tobacco cessation products. Hourly associates, temporary and permanent, will also have the opportunity to earn holiday pay on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Target will host hiring two events at its stores, with one on October 11 through October 13 and other scheduled for November 2 through November 3.
“Getting an early start with those preparations made a big difference to us last year, and it's a great way to get the entire Target team pumped up for the most fun and exciting time of the year,” said Melissa Kremer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Target.
