Evermore is the last number 1 five months ago, on a chart from January 16th. This is the first album to wait so long between the weeks of No. 1 since last November, when Luke Combs What you see is what you get returned to number 1 after nearly a year. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States based on multimeter consumption, measured in equivalent album units. Units include album sales, equivalent tracking albums (TEA) and equivalent streaming albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold by an album, or 3,750 supported by commercials or 1,250 paid / subscription official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. As previously reported, Evermore broke the record for the largest week of vinyl album sales in the United States since MRC Data began tracking sales in 1991. While Sour collides with No. 2 on the Billboard 200, making it the third lowest percentage for debut No. 1 in 2021, after Justin Bieber Justice (down 35% in the second week) and Moneybagg Yo’s Gangsta pain (36.8%). Furthermore, Sour is the first album in more than a year, in which the first two weeks won over 185,000 tracks. The last album that started so strongly was that of Lil Uzi Vert Eternal Attack (288,000 and 247,000 in the first two weeks, respectively, in the rankings of 21-28 March 2020).
Followed by a trio of former number 1 Sour on the new Billboard 200, like that of J. Cole Out of season drops 2-3 (58,000 equivalent albums won; down 37%), Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The double album does not move to number 4 (52,000; 5% discount) and Moneybagg Yo’s Gangsta pain is stable at number 5 (43,000; down 12%). Dua Lipa Future nostalgia rises one place to number 6 by 34,000 (down 2%).
WRLD’s juice Goodbye and good deliverance returns to the top 10 for the first time in more than 18 months, as the set jumped 30-7 after the re-release of the third anniversary on May 28 (winning 32,000 equivalent albums; 71% increase). The set was reissued with two bonus songs: “734” and a remix of the hit single “Lucid Dreams” with Lil Uzi Vert. Goodbye reached the top of number 4 in the ranking of August 11, 2018 and last in the top 10 in the list with the date of December 21, 2019 (№ 6).
DMX’s first posthumous album, Exit, debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 with 32,000 equivalent albums won. Of this amount, SEA units cover 16,000 (equivalent to 22.12 million streams when requesting songs from the album), album sales are 14,000, and TEA – 1,000. The set includes many guest stars, including Bono, Jay -Z, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Nas, Snoop Dogg and Usher. Exit marks DMX’s eighth top 10 album on the Billboard 200.
Completing the new top 10 of the Billboard 200 are two former number 1: The Weeknd’s In hours (12-9 with 30,000 equivalent albums; 5% increase) and Luke Combs’ What you see is what you get (11-10 with 29,000; down 1%).
