Last month we saw the changes that Cadillac will use in its sedan offerings for the next model year. The 2021 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 receive significant updates, although they are only in their second year of supply.
However, it is reported that Cadillac will offer a new package for CT5 – more precisely, for the upholstery CT5 Sport. According to a report by GM body, The CT5 Sport will receive a V Performance package designed to bridge the gap between the Sport and the V-Series.
As the name suggests, the V Performance Package adopts performance improvements from the V-Series and then adds it to the CT5 Sport. These improvements include performance suspension, a mechanical slip-limited differential and the recently introduced Magnetic Ride Control 4.0. GM’s fourth-generation proprietary suspension technology offers a 45 percent faster attenuation response than its predecessor.
To receive the V Performance package, buyers will also need to choose Brembo V Performance brakes. They should also choose the RWD model, as it will not be available when running on all fours.
Of course, the CT5 Sport with V Performance package will also receive most of the updates for the model year 2021. They include a better 12-inch all-digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system with integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Exterior paint colors such as Red Obsession Tintcoat and Royal Spice Metallic will also be dropped from the options, which will be replaced with Infrared Tintcoat. CT4-V and CT5-V can be available exclusively in Rift Metallic paint.
The GM Authority does not report on the pricing of the V Performance package for the CT5 Sport, but is expected to be unveiled in the next few months or when the configurator rises for the 2021 model year.
