The bride can keep one of her wedding guests away from her celebration, depending on what the guest is wearing.
The future bride was recently posted on the Reddit forum “Am I A – h —” earlier this week to explain that her father’s 3-year-old girlfriend plans to wear an “almost white silk dress” with a suitable blazer to her wedding
The bride, who wrote the post under the username AccioWhiskeySour, said she saw her father’s friend’s post about the almost white dress on Instagram over the weekend, which was also the bride’s birthday.
“I was alive,” she wrote the moment she saw the post.

“There is no color error as she took it straight from the website itself,” she added.
She said she immediately sent messages to her father asking if his girlfriend’s dress was really white, but he was away for the weekend.
The next day, however, his girlfriend sent a message to the bride asking her not to give details about her father’s outfit because she wanted to surprise him.
She also apparently told the bride that the dress was actually beige.

“I sent her a message that I was uncomfortable wearing a dress so close in color to mine, and asked her not to wear it,” the bride wrote. “She didn’t answer me.”
“What I find ironic is that she had previously asked if she could get a dress the same color as my bridesmaids, and I asked her to try and avoid that, even if it was possible,” she added. “So it bothers me why you would think it’s good to wear the same color as the BRIDE?”

Eventually, the bride talked to her father and explained the situation.
“I called my father when he came home and told him I wasn’t okay with her wearing this dress,” she wrote. “We had to make a lot of big changes in our wedding and that’s one thing I stand by. I told him I was sorry to put him in a difficult position, but I put my foot on it. There are already people who say [if] she appeared in it, they would reject her on my behalf. “

In an update to the post, the bride said that her father’s friend eventually responded, saying that the dress “looks darker personally” and that she did not realize that the bride “meant the dress code”, the bride wrote.
“I repeated that unfortunately I just don’t feel good at all with the color and I asked her to choose [sic] something else, ”she added. “Our messages were friendly but official with each other. I hope she fully understands now so she doesn’t carry it with hope. “

Overall, commentators in the post supported the bride.
“Everyone knows you don’t wear white / colors close to white at a wedding when you’re not the bride,” one man wrote. “I also find it strange that she wanted to wear the color of the bridesmaids when she was not. If she had just appeared to wear the color without asking or knowing it was the bridesmaid’s color, that’s normal / accidental. But to ask specifically about wearing it … it’s like he’s trying to inject his wedding. “
Another man said: “But really – NOT wearing white at a wedding is like a wedding guest 101 and every woman with a double-digit IQ knows that. Clearly, she is trying to make this wedding an opportunity for herself to steal the spotlight, one way or another. “
