Emily Mitchell, a parental blogger and Instagram influencer, died on December 22 at the age of 36, and the cause of her death has now been revealed.
Mitchell, who was expecting her fifth child, died of a pulmonary embolism, according to the office of a medical expert from Rhode Island.
According to MayoClinic, pulmonary embolism is “blockage of one of the pulmonary arteries in the lungs.”
The family provided a statement on their GoFundMe page. “While it’s hard to wrap up how this can happen, we know that all the responders and medical staff did their best to help, so we’re sure it was just her time,” they said. “God was calling her home.”

According to the family, Mitchell did not respond to breakfast one morning.
Mitchell’s Instagram, The Hidden Way, usually focuses on homework for their four children. She had spent the weeks leading up to her sudden death posting about her pregnancy trip.
In early December, she shared her latest Instagram post, in which she discussed her plan to give birth to baby number five.
“This will be my FIFTH section,” she wrote at the time. However, your baby gets here, just know that YOUR EXPERIENCE is valid and worthy. WE are less of a mother if you need urgent medical intervention, you have a planned cesarean section or an epidural. You are not a “better” mother. if you had a home birth or a non-medical vaginal birth. And if you raised your chicken through adoption or surrogacy or family reunification? These are YOUR babies and SIT UP at the maternity table. “

She concluded: “My plan was never to have five c-sections. But you can be sure I’m grateful for them. Even grieving with my first one when I missed what was supposed to be ‘true motherhood’ be. “How do I feel now? It doesn’t matter how they get here. All that matters is that THEY DELIVER HERE. And they are so deeply loved.”
