The Chrome 87 comes with significant speed improvements, more battery life

The latest Chrome update from 2020 is starting to spread, and Google is offering several performance improvements. Chrome 87 has partition control and better resource management, as well as a number of user-friendly add-ons.

Google says that browser version 87 “represents the biggest performance gains in Chrome after years. “This includes a 5-fold reduction in CPU usage by prioritizing active tabs over what’s in the background. According to Google’s internal criteria, this results in a 1.25-hour increase in battery life.

Behind the scenes, these “significant improvements” are achieved by adjusting JavaScript timer awakenings in the background tabs to once a minute. This does not affect audio playback or notifications.

The next improvement shows that Chrome starts up 25% faster than before and loads pages up to 7% faster. This is achieved by the browser knowing which sections are visible to users and optimizing resources for those above the hidden pages. Occlusion Track now comes to Windows after the first launch of Mac and Chrome OS.

Meanwhile, on Android, Google is advertising close instant loading of the page when navigating backwards or forwards through the browser history.

In Chrome 87, our reverse / forward cache will do 20% of these reverse / forward navigations immediately, and plans to increase this to 50% through further improvements and developer reach in the near future.

Given the appearance of grouping of tabs, as well as fixing, Chrome now allows users to see a list of open in all windows and then allows them to search sections. A new drop-down menu icon in the upper right corner of the browser launches first to Chrome OS and later to other desktop platforms.

Now the box for everything will appear Chrome Actions or shortcuts to general settings, such as clearing browsing data, deleting history, or editing passwords. A touch chip will open the corresponding settings page directly.

Our first set of actions – originally available on the desktop – focuses on privacy and security, so you can increase your peace of mind with a few clicks.

Finally, the new tab page will launch soon appearance of recently visited and linked content cards. Chrome already displays articles from Google Discover on mobile devices. The goal is to provide a way to “continue where you left off” as you explore the web.

Chrome 87 gets a new PDF preview which renews the whole experience. The toolbar has a navigation drawer that shows a thumbnail view of all pages in the document. You can quickly navigate to each page using it, or from the center of the control bar by digitally entering.

Zoom controls are also here, with the ability to adjust width / page and rotate. There is also an annotation with pen and marker tools, while the gradient menu offers a two-page view.

Earlier this year, Google released Safety check a feature in Settings that tells you whether safe browsing is enabled, whether they are included in the latest version of the browser, and whether passwords have been compromised. It comes on mobile devices with Chrome 87.

In the meantime, this version will allow Chrome for iOS automatically fill in saved login details in other applications or browsers.

Chrome 87 websites will be able to control pan, tilt and zoom of compatible cameras.

Chrome 87 will block the download of macOS, Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS users insecure file types,, (such as .pdf and .docx) via HTTP on an HTTPS page. This “[file] cannot be downloaded safely ”the message is in the download bar, while this version will also start warning about image, audio, video and text formats.
