The power company reported about 10,000 people without electricity in Alexandria, while Arlington suffered more than 3,500 outages after 20 hours
A substation circuit is to blame for the outages, said spokeswoman Peggy Fox. She told WTOP that Dominion Energy crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.

Affected areas include Rosemont, Potomac, Potomac Yard and Crystal City, among others.
Recovery time is expected to be between 22:00 on Friday until 1:00 on Saturday.
