The Elder Scrolls 6 update is bad news for PlayStation gamers

Bethesda ‘s latest update The Elder Scrolls 6 and its catalog is bad news for PS4 and PS5 PlayStation players. A few months ago, Microsoft announced the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, a publisher of games and series such as The Elder Scrolls and I’m falling outbut also DOOM,, Dishonorable,, Wolfenstein,, ROW,, Earthquake, and Loot. It was not clear at the time of the announcement what this means for PS5 and PS4 players who are looking forward to such games. The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield. And for a while this remained unclear, but now more information has emerged on these issues.

The good news is that it sounds like Bethesda and Microsoft have no plans to stop playing games on PlayStation consoles, at least not as a general policy. The bad news is that during a recent conference, Xbox CFO Tim Stewart suggested, at the very least, that Bethesda games play best on the Xbox, and in some cases come first.

“We do not intend to simply remove all Bethesda content from Sony or Nintendo, or otherwise,”

; Stewart told the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment Conference via Seeking Alpha. “But what we want is that we want this content in the long run to be either first, or better, or best, or to choose your differentiated experience on our platforms. We want Bethesda content to be displayed as best as possible on our platforms. “

Stewart continued.

“Yes. It doesn’t make sense to be exclusive. It’s not a question of who we are – adjusting the time or the content or the roadmap. that’s what we want to see, and we want to get our Game Pass subscriber base through this Bethesda pipeline, so again, I’m not announcing content downloads from platforms in any way, but I suspect you’ll keep seeing us how we move to the first or better or best approach on our platforms. “

Unfortunately, so far Microsoft and Bethesda have not said anything definite. You’d guess that if the couple has plans to make all or some of their Xbox consoles exclusive, they’ll just announce it, as it will help push the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S units. However, it sounds like at least PlayStation fans may not enjoy the same quality port as Xbox players and may have to wait for exclusivity deadlines.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is under development for PC and is currently the only platform that has been announced, and there has also been no word on a release date or release window at the moment.
