Deathloop slowed down again, with Arkane’s exclusive PS5 console moving from its previous release date on May 21 to the fall version on September 14. The news marks the second big delay for Deathloop, which was originally scheduled to come out in the holiday season 2020 along with the newly released PS5.
As with the earlier delay, Arkane’s Lyon studio again cites delays related to COVID-19, with increased development difficulties as it works to ensure “the health and safety of everyone in Arkane”.
Deathloop is the latest title from Arkane̵
As an exclusive next-generation title, Deathloop will only be released on the PlayStation 5 (for a one-year exclusivity period) and PC – despite the fact that publisher Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft. Xbox studio manager Phil Spencer said Bloomberg as early as September that he would still adhere to this temporal exclusivity for both Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo. That means that with the current delay, Xbox owners will have to wait even longer before heading to Blackreef.
