The FDA is sending a warning letter to Appleton’s doctor

APLETON, Wisconsin (WBAY) – A doctor in Appleton is under fire for allegations about certain treatments.

The FDA sent a letter to Dr. Michael Johnson of Optimal Health and Wellness about treatments he promoted on his website.

Johnson’s company lists several health problems as treatable with products made from human umbilical cords or stem cells. His website also claims that the company follows FDA guidelines.

The FDA says he is not responding and the treatment is not FDA approved.

The agency also says Johnson does not have the right license to legally market the products he believes he uses.

The letter asks Johnson to respond within 30 days and says his clinic is responsible for complying with federal regulations.
