BANGOR, Maine – Saturday was the first COVID-19 vaccination clinic at East Maine Medical Center in Bangor. 1,000 clients have visited the clinic, but some say NEWS CENTER Maine was dissatisfied with the process.
Al Williams, 73, of Glenburn, was one of several people at the clinic. He said approximately dozens of people over the age of 70 have to wait outside to get vaccinated. Williams added that he had to wait in line for more than an hour to enter the clinic, although he showed up before the scheduled meeting.
“Once we got inside, it was very efficient, easy. Reaching that point was awful. So this age group of people, at this time of year, I would be surprised if some of them didn̵
Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center addressed these compliments in a statement.
“As with any new process, lessons have been learned that will help future clinics work even more smoothly. We continue to make adjustments through these unexplored waters and appreciate everyone’s patience,” the statement said.
