Danish developer Blue Box Game Studios has announced its exclusive PlayStation 5, a first-person horror for name survival Abandoned, on Wednesday via Sony’s PlayStation Blog. Almost immediately, PlayStation fans came to the conclusion of his teaser trailer: This is a secret game by Hideo Kojima.
A lot of people thought that the studio was actually forced to deal with speculation about it Abandoned it was a stealth message about something completely different and to deny Kojima’s involvement on his website.
From the statement of Blue Box:
But why PlayStation fans suspected something wasn’t up to par Abandoned? It may have something to do with his game teaser and a slight detail that shows a man walking through a quiet, ghostly, photorealistic forest, but not many others. Or the fact that Blue Box Game Studios doesn’t have much name recognition or much of an online presence – the same for its owner and Abandoned director of the game Hassan Kahraman. Or the fact that Sony Interactive Entertainment publishes Kojima’s previous console platform, Death.
Kojima has certainly set the precedent for mysterious messages about the game to eventually turn into something else (e.g. Phantom pain from Moby Dick Studio and his invented game director Joakim Mogren, PT from 7780s Studio irritation The quiet hills). But according to Blue Box Game Studios, Abandoned is what it is: a realistic survival game for a man with amnesia who finds himself kidnapped and abandoned in the woods. The studio promises to reveal more and release a full video for the game soon.
