The head of the Cyberpunk 2077 studio responds to mandatory crisis reports



CD Projekt Red Head of Studio Adam Badowski responded to a Bloomberg report on a mandatory crisis in the studio, saying the move was “one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make”, but noted that the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 would be “Well compensated for every extra hour they put in.” This follows a report yesterday that contained an email from Badowski sent to CD Projekt Red staff. The e-mail said the studio would introduce mandatory six-day work weeks on the eve of the November version of Cyberpunk 2077, after “expanding all other possible ways to navigate the situation.” CD Projekt Red had previously promised its employees that they would not be forced to throw themselves into the game, in an interview with Kotaku in 201

Badowski posted a statement in response to the Bloomberg report on Twitter. “The last 6 weeks are our last sprint on a project we have all spent a lot of our lives on. Something we care deeply about. Most of the team understands this push,” Badowski said in a statement.

“This is one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make, but everyone gets good compensation for every extra hour they put in,” Badowski added. “And, as in recent years, 10% of the annual profit that our company generates in 2020 will be distributed directly among the team.”
