A prisoner at Folsom State Prison was shot and killed by a sentencing officer on Thursday, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said. The inmate, 34-year-old Martin Pacheco, died Wednesday after being shot in the back, prison officials said Pacheco and two other inmates attacked another inmate, 37-year-old Paul Solis, with weapons they made. Officials said the detainees were disregarding orders from correctional officers to stop the attack.
