The problem development on the continuation of Vampire: The Masquerade has just become much more troubled, Paradox publishers announced tonight that the game not only will not be released in 2021, as originally plannedbut this developers Hardsuit Labs have also been removed from the project.
In a statement made as part of Paradox’s latest revenue, the publisher says:
We have now chosen to postpone the issuance of[[[[Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2] we will not start the game in 2021. We also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer lead the development of Bloodlines 2 and started working with a new partner in the studio to complete the work on the game. It was a difficult decision, but we are convinced that this is the right way forward to play fair.
Oh, boy. The sequel to Masquerade has been caused by problems for years writers and creative directors have been fired from the project to recurring (and significant) delays. Still, these are video games where high speeds and slowdowns aren’t exactly uncommon (look everywhere from Cyberpunk to Hello Infinite to Anthem for example).
To remove whole studio from the game they did (well, started) is something else, and meit will be interesting to see how much this works “a new partner in the studio “did at the time this game came out. If it ever comes out.
Second statement on the game’s website adds a little more detailsaying “As we are currently unable to announce a new release date, we have decided to stop accepting pre-orders for now. “
The site also thanks Hardsuit for their work on the game so far, adding “We would like to take this opportunity to honor Hardsuit Labs for their efforts and thank them for their hard work on the project. The studio has done a great job in laying the foundations of the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate their contribution to Bloodlines 2. ”
