Microsoft’s new Edge browser accidentally crashes when users type in the address bar tonight. The issues appear to affect Edge users who have chosen Google as their default search engine. Microsoft says it is aware of the problems and the Edge team is investigating.
Microsoft recommends that you turn off Search Suggestions at the end: // settings / search. On the edge has tested this solution and it solves the problem if you set Google as your default search engine.
Do you see an Edge crash when you try to type in the address bar? The team is looking at him! In the meantime, as a solution, please turn off search suggestions here: edge: // settings / search. We will follow up after we have more!

The Microsoft Edge crashes started around 7:00 ET and affect macOS and Windows users. It’s not clear why Edge is limited to Google Search users. If you switch to the Microsoft Bing search engine in Edge, crashes do not occur.
We have contacted Microsoft for more information about the issues and will update it accordingly.
