Atlanta will host this year's Miss Universe pageant, the Miss Universe organization confirmed in its social media accounts Thursday night.
The competition's televised contest will be held at Tyler Perry's studio on December 8, the day after the SEC football game championship is played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The screening will take place in movie studios just weeks after the Democratic presidential debate.
The international competition will host dozens of women from six continents in 10 days in the capital. The contestants are expected to start official activities on November 28, and the last night of the competition will be December 8. Competitors typically spend time in the host city, expressing, rehearsing, and competing in pre-race events before the final night.
With the finals of the competition the day after the SEC Championship, a busy weekend has to be made for Atlanta airports and hotels.
Ticket information for the contest can be found at MissUniverse.com. The theater will air Fox at 7:00. December 8th.
