A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died Wednesday, drowning while serving in his homeland in El Salvador, a church spokesman said Friday.
“Elder Fernando Antonio Ramos Garcia, 21, of Huahua, El Salvador, died Wednesday after drowning in a river in the municipality of Nahulingo, Sonsonate,” said Sam Penrod. “His body was recovered this morning. Elder Ramos has served since March 2020. Our most sincere condolences and prayers are with Elder Ramos’ family and loved ones as they remember his life and mourn his death. We pray that they will feel the love of our Heavenly Father in this tragic moment. “
Ramos Garcia serves in the mission of El Salvador San Salvador West / Belize.
