2020 was a very, very current year for Nintendo. And the leaks continued with a brand new leak, which today made circles, revealing not one, but two unissued Pokemon games that Game Freak originally planned to release after Sun and moon, or, in other words, before Sword and shield. Unfortunately, the leaks themselves are not very revealing, but they reveal that the original plan was to make two more games located in the Kalos area after Ultra sun and Ultra Moon.
The leak is complete a Sun and Moon surface storage online. The files inside are obviously dated, but the source code confirms that Game Freak is not done with the Kalos region, as there are two unused reserved locations.

Of course, like any leak, this one should be taken with a little salt. Although data retrieval when retrieving data is usually quite reliable, it can also be misleading. Besides, who knows if these mysterious games ever started to develop.
Unfortunately, while the leak reveals that Game Freak cooked something with the Kalos region, it does not reveal what it cooked or whether any of them were close to materializing into an actual product.
At the time of publication, neither Nintendo nor Game Freak had commented on the latest leak or speculation about it, and both are unlikely to have, as they both have a fairly strict “no comment” policy when it comes to leaks. However, if one of the parties provides a comment, we will be sure to update the story with anything shared.
