black Panther star Chadwick Boseman had no will when he died in August after a four-year battle with colon cancer, according to recent court records.
His wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, filed a petition for administrative letters to the Los Angeles County Supreme Court on Thursday.
Boseman has no children, but according to the petition, both his parents are alive. Under California law, when a person dies insolvent in such circumstances, the spouse would inherit all of the community’s property and share the individual’s individual property with the parents.
The administrative letters will give Ledward the authority to manage Boseman’s assets, which the declaration said included personal property worth about $ 939,000.
