DALLAS (AP) – The process of killing a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black man in his Dallas apartment will begin. But just about every other aspect of a high profile case is a crowning dispute.
Some view the shooting as a tragic incident with almost unbelievable circumstances. Others have modeled it on white officers killing black men, which they say points to systemic problems with US police.
The arguments for the discovery will be scheduled to begin on Monday. After all, the jury will have to reach a consensus on whether Geiger has committed a murder, less crime or no crime at all. But the only point of agreement on her case in Dallas is that it will deeply shape the relationship between police and residents.
