The royal family celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the wedding of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh with an array of black and white throw pictures.
The 93-year-old queen married Prince Philip on November 98 on November 20, 1947 at Westminster Abbey and the couple continued to have three children, Prince Charles, 71, Princess Anne, 69, Prince Andrew, 59, and Prince Edward , 55.
Today the Royal Family account on Twitter and Instagram shared a photo of the Queen and Philip standing on the royal balcony on their wedding day, along with a photo of the couple at a more recent engagement in 2015.
The caption reads : "Happy 72nd wedding anniversary of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, who were married that day in Westminster It abbey # happy anniversary. "

And the Kensington Palace Instagram account also paid tribute to the Queen by posting another black and white photo of the couple enjoying a walk during their honeymoon in Broadlands, Romsey, Hampshire and a more recent photo of the couple.
The caption reads: "To wish Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh a very happy 72nd wedding anniversary!"

This year was another special year for the Queen and Prince Philip as they became great-grandmothers for eight years with their grandson Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, welcomed baby Archie in May.
Princess Elizabeth and Philip first meet in 1934 at the wedding of Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark and Prince George, Duke of Kent, and fall in love five years later at a key meeting at the Royal Navy College Dartmouth, Devon, when King George VI and Queen Elizabeth were visiting with their two daughters.

The King's official biographer, Sir John Wheeler-Bennett, recalled: "This was a man whom Princess Elizabeth had fallen in love with since her first meeting. "
