The statue of Dolly Parton can be erected on the territory of the Capitol in Tennessee.
State Representative John Mark Windell proposed such a statue on the property to recognize all the contributions of the state icon.
The creation and installation of the statue will be funded by “non-state sources” such as “gifts, grants and other donations”, which will be invested in a separate account that will raise money for the development and implementation of the plan, according to Windell’s bill. He proposed a similar plan for the maintenance of the statue after its installation.
In addition, the work of art will be commissioned and “will require input from the public and other stakeholders for the purposes of developing the plan, including proposed design concepts for the statue.”
DOLLY PARTON HAS A “SECRET SONG” LOCKED IN DOLLYWOOD
An online petition was filed in June proposing a statue of the 74-year-old Parton to replace those dedicated to Confederate officers.
“Tennessee is littered with statues commemorating Confederate officers,” the petition said. “History must not be forgotten, but we must not attract the attention of those who do not deserve our praise. Instead, let us honor the true hero of Tennessee, Dolly Parton.”
The petition cites her music and Parton’s Dollywood Foundation and philanthropy as reasons for her potential recognition.

“Let’s replace the statues of men who tried to tear this country apart with a monument to the woman who worked all her life to bring us closer,” the petition said.
More than 25,000 signatures were collected on Wednesday night.
The 9 to 5 singer was recently praised publicly for her $ 1 million donation to Vanderbilt University’s coronavirus test, which helped Moderna develop a vaccine that they say is almost 95% effective, according to the New England Journal of Medicine.
Fans even took to Twitter in November 2020 to thank her, jokingly attributing her “to save the world” with her donation.
Parton later spoke to Today about the vaccine and its role in development.
“I’m glad that everything I do can help someone else,” she said. “When I donated the money to COVID[-19] fund just wanted to get well and obviously! Let’s hope we find a cure soon. “
A Parton spokesman did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.

The Christmas Square star also appeared on The One Show in the UK, where she explained that she “just feels so proud that she was part of that little seed of money that we hope will grow into something great and will help heal this world, “according to the BBC.
However, the other achievements of the singer should certainly not be ignored, as she is considered the most influential performers of country music. She has won nine Grammys and 50 nominations.
She has twice been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song with additional Golden Globe nominations for her music and acting skills. And the star also saved a dancer on the set of her latest film from a car crash.

“We were on set and I was at the hot chocolate station and they told me to go back to my starting positions,” dancer-actress Talia Hill said before the Inside Edition. “So, a vehicle was moving and I was walking, and then that someone grabbed me and pulled me back, I looked up and it was Dolly Parton and I was like … surprised. “

President Obama also acknowledged that he “deserved” a medal for freedom and joked that he would “call” Joe Biden and give a good word to the singer.
