When was the last time we announced Komi rule, the upcoming miniseries of Showtime, based on the former director of the FBI James Comeybest-selling book, there was controversy over its release date. Screenwriter / director Billy Ray sent a scary email to his cast members, insisting that the show should air before election day 2020. It now appears he has received his wish as Komi rule there is now an official release date before election day and a first trailer.
Jeff Daniels stars like Komi, who seems to be an increasingly concerned man of integrity. Brendan Gleeson plays the role of President Donald Trump, and while the trailer gives us only glimpses and a catch of Gleason̵
From a purely artistic point of view, I’m not entirely sure that we get the best pieces of political filmmaking when they’re made so close to what’s actually happening (see: Oliver Stone‘s W.). In this case, Trump has not even completed his first term, and we are already fixing our first term. How can we know what it means in a broader context so that we know what to say about it? Then again, the Trump presidency knows no precedent, and Ray’s goal of making an urgent activist film is both tangible and contagious. The trailer gives me nuances of popcorn-political thrillers from the 90’s and the maestro of “important people who say they mean things fast” Aaron Sorkin, Plus, All the president’s men was released just two years after President Nixon’s resignation. I’m going to watch this thing – and I imagine Ray is hoping for a lot of potential voters.
Check out the first trailer and the official synopsis for Komi rule Below. The ministry airs Sept. 27 and 28 on Showtime. For more information on Gleason, here’s the exciting news from his recent one Macbeth adaptation.
Based on the New York Times’ best-selling book Comey №1, “Higher Loyalty and More Than a Year of Additional Interviews with a Few Basic Principles,” the COMEY Rule is immersive, behind the headline of the historically tumultuous 2016 presidential election and the consequences of them that divided a nation. COME’S RULES is not a biography of one man, but instead the story of two powerful figures – Komi and Trump, whose strikingly different personalities, ethics and loyalty put them on a course of confrontation.
