Are Folding Phones the Wave of the Future? Paint me skeptically, but Samsung looks like this. Earlier this week at the Unpacked event, Samsung officially introduced its foldable smartphone with long rumors, a device appropriately called the Galaxy Fold. Featuring a 7.3-inch display when fully opened and a 4.6-inch bend display, the device is undoubtedly intriguing. Still, it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy Fold will lead a new path of smartphone innovation or simply be nothing more than a funny innovation of Google Glass. Samsung for innovation, while simultaneously blasting Apple for it's boring. Interestingly, Apple, believe it or not, publishes patents relating to iPhone's folding designs. Moreover, last year, Bank of America's analyst said Apple was working on a folding iPhone that can see daylight as early as 2020.
Apple presents patents for products that it never issues regularly, so probably it's not a good idea to read too much in this. Still, one can not help but wonder what can bring the folding iPhone to the market.
Well, do not wonder anymore. The people at ConceptsiPhone recently assembled a conceptual video depicting what a folding iPhone can bring to the table. Many of them look cool, but if we are honest, some ideas seem meaningless or so ambitious that they do not even look realistic at the moment. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with a nice conceptual video, so enjoy the madness below.
