Florida surpassed 1.5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, when approximately 15,000 new cases were identified on Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.
Overall, Sunshine State appears third in the country for most COVID-19 cases reported so far, with California and Texas, the two most populous states, being first and second, respectively.
In addition, there are 156 new COVID-19 deaths in Florida, resulting in a total of 23,227 coronavirus-related deaths.
