The DPH in Iowa reported 33 additional COVID-19 deaths for a total of 2,192 victims. The website reports that 1,307 of the deaths in the country are related to residents with pre-existing conditions. Of 99 Iowa counties, 92 reported a 14-day positivity rate above 15%. Only one county of Iowa, Lucas County, reports a 14-day positivity rate below 10%. According to the state’s website, a total of 1,162,495 Iowa residents received tests for COVID-19. The health department reported 8,418 results from laboratory tests the previous day, with 1,905 positive results. The state receives results from laboratory tests from previous days, which are added to the total. Iowa DPH reports 1,340 hospitalizations, of which 255 Iowans are in intensive care units.
