In the video, Carolina first cleans the surface of a bottle of sauce from the paste using a damp paper towel to remove all stickers and barcodes.
With a brush she painted two layers on the jar make sure the glass cannot be seen.
To make the jar look made of ceramic, she pre-mixed baking soda in a bowl of paint.
The abrasive texture of baking soda will create a rough surface of the jar rather than a smooth finish.
Those who paint on a budget may consider buying small test paint pots from Bunnings to decorate a variety of vases in different colors.
Once the paint was dry, Carolina wrapped the string around the glass jar.

Local Victorian Britney also praised the simple method by sharing images of the Kmart Inspired Homes Facebook group – which has more than 334,000 members.
“I broke these three this morning and I’m so happy with them! Recommended for a cheap and easy idea! she wrote.

TIPS FOR IMAGING THE VASE
Both glass and old ceramic pots can be used
Use sample paint pots from Bunnings Warehouse to stay on a budget and choose a variety of colors
Any paint can be used as long as it is water-based
Use as much baking soda as needed to create the desired texture
Paint the inside, outside and bottom of the vase
Make sure all the paint is dry before adding another coat of paint, otherwise it will peel off
Add as many layers as possible – the more paint added, the more authentic it will look
The craft project is fun and easy to implement over the weekend and the unattractive second-hand pots turn into chic modern vases that will fill any boring corner
Others on both Facebook and TikTok described the do-it-yourself tactic as “brilliant” and the end results as “wonderful.”
‘So beautiful!’ one person said online, another added, “I’m trying this weekend!”
Transformed vases can also be used as plant pots to illuminate the garden or to be used to store artificial greenery in the house.
