Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Weapons, Loot, Magic, Enemies and More – IGN Expo

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, the game within the Borderlands spin-off game, is coming next year – and we learned a lot more about the game, its characters, the loot and much more at the IGN Expo.

Speaking to IGN in a trailer breakdown (below), creative director Matt Cox told us through some key parts of the trailer, giving us a much better idea of what’s coming up in the action adventure.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Setup and key details

Wonderlands was created shortly after Assault on Dragon Keep, the Borderlands 2 DLC extension that spawned this complete separation – although Cox explains that you don̵

7;t need to know this story to play this one, as it’s a brand new adventure in a brand new new world.

Set in an “unpredictable fantasy world”, this is a cooperative four-player game that changes on the move as Tiny Tina changes the story (and thus the game world) during a Bunkers & Badasses game, the fictional takeover of Borderlands Dungeons and dragons. Cox hints that this may not be a one-time story game, citing a lot of loot and “repetitive content at the end of the game.”

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Main characters

Unlike the main Borderlands games, players will create and customize their own characters that will take multiple classes. It is unclear whether they will be voiced or silent characters.

Many voice talents are offered outside the players. Ashley Birch returns to the voice of Tiny Tina, Andy Samberg (The Lonely Island) will voice Captain Valentine, Will Arnett (LEGO Batman, Bojack Horseman) will play the lead antagonist, Dragon Lord and Wanda Sykes (Harley Quinn, Broad City) “robot obsessed with rules, ”called Fret.

The character in the trailer cannot be played – we still don’t know who they are, but they are expressed by the veteran anime voice actor, Gabe Kunda.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Weapons, booty and magic

As you might expect, Wonderland places a lot of emphasis on weapons and loot. Cox says weapons can’t be customized, but there is a great variety along the way – and they will be available in the form of weapons, melee weapons and spells. You’ll also find armor and amulets (which probably add skill or change stats). One Borderlands fastens you there is no the find in Wonderland is a grenade that has seemingly been replaced by magic.

Players’ characters will also have activated skills based on their classes, but your set of special abilities can be added with spells. “In fact, we like to think of our spells as more like mini-skills,” says Cox, “because of their power and variety of behavior.”

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Enemies

In addition to Will Arnett’s The Lord of the Dragons, Wonderland aims to adapt typical fantasy creatures into something more appropriate for Tini Tina’s mind.

The trailer shows a fairly normal-looking dragon, as well as skeletons scattering underground – but there are also some heavily muscular great white sharks with legs. “You can expect some slightly distorted fantasy takeovers,” Cox says.

Be sure to check again, as we have much, much more than IGN Expo today and IGN’s Summer games throughout this month, inclusive E3 2021 coverage.
