I wrote last weekend that Titanfall 2 is enjoying a significant resurgence of popularity on Steam thanks to its connections with the upcoming launch of Apex Legends ninth season. Now the numbers of players are even bigger, because this weekend is free on Steam.
From now until May 3 at 10:00 PT / 18:00 BST you will be able to play Titanfall 2 for free. That’s long enough to complete its excellent campaign (which will take about six hours), but the high number of players also gives you the opportunity to return to your similar excellent multiplayer. At the time of writing, the game has over 27,000 players online according to Steam Charts.
The multiplayer mode is filled with these kinds of dramatic moments. Gaining the ability to summon fur is common and still manages to feel overwhelmed when you’re a pilot, but fair when you’re fighting them. Grasping the back of a bag to tear its wiring is exciting, as is escaping a falling ship when your team loses. These are just some of the reasons why Titanfall 2 is on our list of the best FPS.
Meanwhile, Apex Legends season nine is set to launch on Tuesday and brings with it a new character, Valkyrie, who is the daughter of an enemy pilot-mechanic from the story mode of Titanfall 2. Imogen had the opportunity to play Valkyrie and had fun with her jets.
